Welcome back, my friends, to the blog that never ends! Here are the answers to yesterday's Cisco CCNA and CCNP certification exam prep questions!

CCNA:

You have just hard-coded a router with the OSPF RID 20.20.20.20. What has to be done to make this take effect?

A. Nothing.

B. Reload the router.

C. Clear the OSPF process.

D. Delete the OSPF process.

E. Hardcode the other routers in the area with the same RID.

Answer: B, C. To make the new RID take effect, you need to either reload the router or clear the OSPF process. The router will tell you this, by the way, but the CCNA exam probably won't. :)

CCNP / BSCI:

A non-routing node on an ISIS network sends how many different ISIS hello types?

A. Zero

B. One

C. Two

D. Three

Answer: B. This describes an ISIS End System, and End Systems send only ESH (End System Hello) packets.

CCNP / BCMSN:

From a LAN's point of view, what's transparent in Transparent LAN Service?

A. The other LANs.

B. The WAN.

C. The hosts on the LAN.

D. The servers on the LAN.

Answer: B. From a LAN's point of view, the WAN is transparent. The LANs on the other side of the WAN all appear to be on a local segment.

CCNP / BCRAN:

Identify the true statement.

A. RADIUS supports ARAP, TACACS+ does not.

B. TACACS+ supports ARAP, RADIUS does not.

C. Both RADIUS and TACACS+ support ARAP.

D. Neither RADIUS not TACACS+ support ARAP.

Answer: B. RADIUS does not support Appletalk Remote Access Protocol (ARAP). RADIUS also does not support NASI, NetBIOS Frame Protocol Control, or X.25 PAD. TACACS+ supports all of these.

CCNP / CIT:
