Here are the answers to Saturday morning's CCNA and CCNP practice questions!

CCNA:

You have summarized the routes below. What is the resulting summary? Short answer.

100.1.1.0 /16
100.2.1.0 /16
100.3.1.0 /16
100.4.1.0 /16
100.5.1.0 /16
100.6.1.0 /16
100.7.1.0 /16

Answer: Working from left to right, draw a line where the seven routes no longer have a bit in common. In this example, it's between the 13th and 14th bits. The number of common bits is your mask, and the value of the bits to the left-hand side of that line is your summary:
100.0.0.0 /13 OR 100.0.0.0 255.248.0.0.

CCNP / BSCI:

A BGP router has two possible paths to a remote destination. The weights are unchanged. What is the next deciding factor?

A. The path with the highest LOCAL_PREF will be preferred.

B. The path with the lowest LOCAL_PREF wil be preferred.

C. The path with the shortest AS_PATH will be preferred.

D. The path with the highest AS_PATH will be preferred.

Answer: A. After weight, LOCAL_PREF is the next attribute measured, and the highest value is preferred.

CCNP / BCMSN:

Where does a switch keep the MAC addresses that it has learned?

A. The CAM table.

B. The switching table.

C. The bridging table.

D. The MAC address table.

Answer: A, B, C, D. These are four common names for the same thing.

CCNP / BCRAN:

Identify the true statements regarding ISDN BRI:

A. There are more b-channels than d-channels.

B. There are more d-channels than b-channels.

C. The d-channels carry data.

D. The b-channels carry data.

E. The b-channels are responsible for call teardown.

F. The d-channels are responsible for call teardown.

Answer: A, D, F. There are two b-channels; these carry data. There is one d-channel; this channel handles call construction and teardown.

CCNP / CIT:What command resulted in the following output?

BRI0/0 - dialer type = ISDN
Dial String Successes Failures Last DNIS Last status
5551000 1 0 00:00:25 successful

0 incoming call(s) have been screened.
0 incoming call(s) rejected for callback.

This is the partial output of show isdn status. (I apologize for any formatting issues with that question - it's a Blogger limitation.)
