Answer: F7 equals 247 in decimal; in dotted decimal, that's 11110111.


Network+:

What is the prefix length of the mask used for Class B private addresses?

A. /8

C. /16

D. /20

E. /24

F. /32

Answer: B. While the default mask of a Class B address is /16 (255.255.0.0), the mask for the private address range of Class B addresses is /12 (255.240.0.0).


CCNP / BCRAN:

Once a cable modem is powered on, what's the first thing it needs to do?

A. Acquire a SYNC signal

B. Acquire a RF signal

C. Acquire a MAP signal

Answer: B. The cable modem must find a Radio Frequency (RF), also called a DOCSIS channel.

Answer: C. The original root will become the root port when it comes back up, but not immediately. The formula is (2 x Forward Delay) + 5 seconds. With default settings, that's 35 seconds.

Answer: D. End user interaction with the network occurs at the Access layer.

What troubleshooting model are you using if your first step is to examine the routing table?

Answer: If you begin troubleshooting at a middle layer of the OSI model, you're using the divide-and-conquer troubleshooting method.
