Here are the answers to Tuesday's Cisco certification exam practice questions!
CCNA Exam:
Short answer: Name the three EIGRP tables and briefly describe their purpose.
Answer: The EIGRP tables are route, topology, and neighbor. The route table contains the best routes (successors), the topology table contains all valid routes (successors and feasible successors), and the neighbor table, well, contains information about neighbors!
CCNP Certification / BSCI Exam:
The first eight bits of an IPv6 address are all set to one. What address type does this indicate?
A. broadcast
B. unicast
C. anycast
D. multicast
Answer: D. If the first eight bits are 1 (1111 1111), this is a multicast. In hex, this is FF. IPv6 does not use broadcasts.
CCNP Certification / BCMSN Exam:
Short answer: What command applies a VLAN ACL, and to what type of interface can a VLAN ACL be applied to?
Answer: VLAN ACLs are not applied to interfaces. They're applied globally with the "vlan filter" command.
CCNP Certification / ISCW Exam:
What term is defined as "only the devices that should see the data in an unencrypted form will see the data in that form"?
A. Data Origin Authentication
B. Data Integrity
C. Data Encryption
D. Data Confidentiality
Answer: D. Data Confidentiality means that only the hosts that should see the data in an unencrypted form will indeed be the only ones who do see the data in that form.
