You have 60 seconds after turning on the router to do a control break to get into rommon mode
p.s you're absolutely right about the protocol to be used in a multi vendor environment and supporting VLSM that's why I should've read the entire question...concerning ospf and RIPv2.....that's why I come here to learn as much as I can...thnks as always....... I should've gotten that right!
