Short answer: Take the last octet of the multicast address reserved for EIGRP Hello packet transmission and convert it to hex.

Answer: The address is 224.0.0.10; the hex representation of the decimal "10" is simply "a".


CCNP / BSCI:

An OSPF-enabled router receives an LSA. The sequence number is lower that the most recent LSA received for that link. What will the receiving router do?

A. Accept the LSA and update its database.

B. Accept the LSA, update its database, and flood the changes to the DR.

C. Reject the update and send the more-recent copy of that LSA back to the sending router.

D. Reject the update and take no further action.

Answer: C. The receiving router will not accept the LSA, and will in return send a copy of its more-recent version of that LSA back to the sending router.


CCNP / BCMSN:

A VTP switch has a revision number of 5. This switch receives a VTP advertisement with a revision number of 6. What action(s) will this switch take?

A. Accept the advertisement

B. Reject the advertisement

C. Increment its revision number

D. Decrement its revision number

E. Keep the revision number the same

Answers: A, C. The switch will accept the advertisement and increment its own revision number.
