Answer: This great new Cisco router feature makes it possible to recover much more quickly from an erased Cisco IOS config file. The Resilient Configuration is a copy of the IOS that literally cannot be erased by an intruder. This copy of the IOS is kept in Flash. In case the original IOS is erased, the backup copy of the IOS can be used for booting from ROM Monitor (ROMMON) mode.
