Now on to today's practice exam!

1.  Put these route types in order of their administrative distance, from lowest to highest.   There may be a tie.  Then again, there may not be.  :)

EIGRP internal

OSPF external

EIGRP external

OSPF internal

2.   Convert the hex value 3ab to decimal.

3.   While you're at it, convert the binary string 00110011 to decimal.

Answers right after this message.   Click the covers -- you'll be glad you did!

Can your heart stand the SHOCKING FACTS.... behind THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS?

I sure hope so, 'cause here they are!

1.  The route type with the lowest AD is the EIGRP internal route (90).

There's a tie after that, because OSPF internal and external routes both have an AD of 110.

Highest of all is the EIGRP external route, checking in with an AD of 170.

2.   "3ab" in hex gives us 3 units of 256, 10 units of 16, and 11 units of 1.

768 +  160 + 11  = 939.

3.   The binary string 00110011 converts to 51 in decimal.

That's it for today!  See you Wednesday with more!

More what, you ask?  Show up and find out!

I am going to have to start coming here more often. These little tid-bits are going to add up and solidify.

Thanks
Make you a deal, Michael -- I'll post a lot more often if you start coming here more often. : )
