Hi Group!

Lots of great stuff coming up today and over the weekend, including more CCNA/CCNP Training Videos and practice exam questions!

I've been asked about several different Bryant Advantage release dates, so here's what we have planned for the near future:

July 2009: CCNA Voice Study Package release

September 2009: CCNA Wireless Study Package release

Nov / Dec 2009: Network+ 2009 Study Package release and Network+ Webinars, all on the TBA website as well as a brand-new website totally dedicated to Network+ 2009 certification!

PLUS -- We'll have new Video Boot Camps for the CCNA Voice and Wireless out later this summer, and an exciting new format for our Webinars so you can watch them anytime you like!

It's an exciting time here at TBA - and we couldn't do it without you.

I thank you for your support, and keep visiting the blog and the main sites - we've got some great new features on the way in addition to everything listed above - and the best is truly yet to come!

C. RIP Administrative Distance (120)

D. First octet of a multicast IP address (224)

E. Last octet of the reserved EIGRP multicast address (10)

F. Last octet of the reserved RIPv2 multicast address (9)

Answer: F, B & E (tie), A, C, D.

CCNA Security:

Describe the basic operation of IP Source Guard.

Answer: IP Source Guard uses the DHCP Snooping table to filter out untrusted IP addresses on L2 ports.

CCNA Voice:

Conversion of a signal from analog to digital is a four-step process. Put these four steps in order.

A. Encode

B. Quantize

C. Sample

D. Compress

Answer: C, B, A, D. Compression is optional, the other steps are required.

CCNA Wireless:

Describe "monitor mode" as it applies to a wireless access point.

Answer: When an AP is in monitor mode, it's monitoring for rogue APs. The monitoring process prevents the AP from simultaneously allowing clients to use that particular AP.

The answers to the CCNP questions follow; all CCNP questions that day were short answer, with no choices given.

BSCI Exam:

The EIGRP "reliable" packet types are considered reliable because they use what specific protocol?

Answer: RTP, the Reliable Transport Protocol.

BCMSN Exam:

Leaving the "broadcast" option out of your frame map statements can affect which of the following?

A. OSPF

B. RIP v 1

What's the default setting for Cisco router and switch interfaces?

A. They're all closed.

B. They're all open.

C. Switch interfaces are open, router interfaces are not.

(My CCNA Voice Study Package will be released in June!)

Before you learn about dial peers, you better know what types of dial peers we can configure. So what are they?

Answer: POTS and VoIP.

CCNA Wireless:

Just like a regular "wired" network, security is a major concern with wireless networks. Having said that, briefly describe the difference between a recon attack and an access attack.

Answer: A recon attack is primarily designed to gather information for use in future attacks; an access attack is designed to do just what you think - deny access to the network or device under attack.

Here are the answers to the CCNP questions from Monday:

BSCI Exam:

Identify the true statements regarding the BGP attribute weight.

A. On Cisco routers, it's the first attribute considered in the best-path selection process.

B. It is a Cisco-proprietary value

C. It is locally significant only

D. It is advertised to other routers as part of the BGP update process

Answer: (A, B, C). Weight is the first value considered in BGP path selection among multiple paths - and when the routers are Cisco routers!

BCMSN Exam:

Name the two Etherchannel negotiation protocols.

Answer: PAgP and LACP.

ISCW Exam:

Identify the true statements regarding VRRP.
