What are the masks for the reserved Class A, B, and C address ranges? Express your answer in both dotted decimal and prefix notation.

Answer:

Class A: 255.0.0.0, /8

Class B: 255.248.0.0, /12

Class C: 255.255.0.0, /16



CCNP Certification / BSCI Exam:

Name the three EIGRP tables and identify which one(s) contain Successor routes.

Answer: Topology, Route, and Neighbor. You can find the Successor routes in both the Route and Topology tables.



CCNP Certification / BCMSN Exam:

What is the industry-standard equivalent of HSRP?

Answer: Defined in RFC 2338, the Virutal Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) is the open-standard equivalent of the Cisco-proprietary HSRP.




CCNP Certification / ISCW Exam & CCNA Security:

What ISAKMP SA status indicates the SA is in place?

Bonus: What CLI command displays this information?

Answer: We're looking for the QM_IDLE state, and the command to verify this is show crypto isakmp sa.
