Here are the answers to the Cisco practice exam questions posted on Monday, December 15!

CCNA And CCENT Certification:

Name three advantages TCP has over UDP.

Answer: TCP offers windowing, guaranteed delivery, and lost segment recovery via the use of sequence numbers.

CCNP Certification / BSCI Exam:

When it comes to EIGRP, what is an "SIA route"? What creates such a route?

Answer: That's a Stuck In Active route. While these can be more of an art form than a science to troubleshoot in the real world, here's the official word from the Cisco website:

"When the SIA error message occurs, it indicates that the EIGRP routing protocol failed to converge for the specified route. Usually, this failure is caused by a flapping interface, a configuration change, or dialup clients (the route loss is normal). The routing to other destinations is not affected while the EIGRP process is in active state for the specified route."

CCNP Certification / BCMSN Exam:

What option needs to be enabled for an HSRP-speaking router to take over as the Active router without the current Active router becoming unavailable?

Answer: The preempt option.

CCNP Certification / ISCW Exam & CCNA Security:

What is the default lifetime of an IPsec SA?

Answer: One hour.

I'll have a new set of questions posted later today!
